Shutdown ritual

Close the day on purpose so tomorrow starts clean.

What it does

Shutdown is the end-of-day counterpart to the morning ritual. Use it to review Finished today and Didn't get to, then review your day's summary. You can open unfinished tasks to give them a new date or move them to the backlog. If something needs a note, add it to the relevant task.

Run it

Click Shutdown in the top toolbar (or set an automatic prompt time in Settings -> Rituals; see Ritual settings).

Why it matters

A short review gives unfinished work a next step so you can return to it without keeping the whole list in your head.

Tips

  • Be honest about what didn't fit. Move it without guilt.
  • If new work comes to mind, capture a task in your backlog and decide when to do it during your next planning session.
  • Keep it short — 3–5 minutes is enough.
